These tees are made from 100% certified recycled plastic ‘PET’ bottles, the very same drinks bottles that we trash daily and swamp landfill sites.
The bottles are stripped of their labels and caps, washed, and crushed, then chopped into flake. These tiny pieces are melted and extruded to create fibre. The fibre produced is crimped, cut, drawn and stretched into the desired length for strength, then baled. The baled fibre can be processed into fabric for a variety of textile product uses. Sounds simple, but i‘ve no idea how this actually works, but somehow it does.
Recycled polyester reduces air, water & soil contamination, reduces use of energy & oil, reduces non-biodegradable landfill matter, reduces toxic emissions from incinerators, reduces pollution and land degradation although, of course, it‘s not perfect, it doesn’t solve global warming, World peace or time Travel and is strangely, even though it’s made from trash more expensive to use. It does however help the environment and make you feel slightly better about throwing out your rubbish.
